Scientists are much more versatile, but don’t forget their primary purpose is healing and reviving faster than the other zombies. I’ll go over how to play scientist and what each variant does.

This guide will go over everything about the Scientist class in Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2 including:

Scientist Basics and Abilities - How to play the Scientist and the abilities they have. Scientist Variants - Each variant for the Scientist and what they do. Scientist Character Upgrades - Each upgrade for the Scientist and what they do.

Scientist Basics and Abilities

The Scientist’s main weapon is a Goo Blaster; which is a shotgun. You’ll want to get in close to take out plants when using this class. Luckily, they have a warp ability that teleports them a short distance. This is the key to getting close enough to the plants.

They have have the same health as a Sunflower, 100. You can play Scientist as an offense class by warping to the enemy and using your main weapon to take them down quickly. They also have a sticky bomb ability to deal extra damage while you escape or heal teammates.

As a Scientist, your main job is to heal and revive your team, so watch their health even if you are playing offensively.

Abilities

Heal Beam of Science - Sends a beam that links to the targeted player. As long as you stay near them, it will continue to heal them until one of you dies or you switch targets. You can move, shoot, and do anything you want while Heal Beam is on. Alternate Ability: Zombie Heal Station - Places a station down that heals all nearby zombies, including you, with a purple substance. Alternate Ability: Armored Heal Station - Just like the normal heal station, but this one is harder to destroy and will self-destruct after a while. Warp - Teleports you a short distance. This is useful for getting next to plants to shoot them, escaping enemies, or just crossing distances faster. Alternate Ability: Energy Warp - Turns you into pure energy and lets you move around for a short time. You take no damage while in Energy Warp. Sticky Explody Ball - Throws a ball that sticks to surfaces, including plants, and explodes. Sticky Explody Ball only detonates when plants are nearby, so you can also use it as a trap. Alternate Ability: Mega Heal Bomb - Throws a huge bomb that rolls and explodes into a burst of healing after a short time.

Scientist Character Upgrades

Scientist gets character upgrades at level 5 and 9. When you get to 10 you can promote it to reset it back to level 1. This gives you a new rank and allows you level up again to get more character upgrades.

I’ll tell you at what level and rank you get each character upgrade and what they do.

Base

Health Regeneration Delay Upgrade (Level 5) - Lower the time it takes before your health begins to regenerate. Speed Upgrade (Level 9) - Increases your movement speed.

Specialist

Health Regeneration Upgrade (Level 5) - Increases how fast your health regenerates. Reload Speed (Level 9) - Increases how fast you reload your weapon.

Advanced

Ammo Upgrade (Level 5) - Increases how much ammo your gun has before you must reload.   Reload Speed (Level 9) - Increases how fast you reload your weapon.

Elite

Damage Upgrade (Level 5) - Increases how much damage you deal with your weapon.

Super Elite

Health Upgrade (Level 5) - Increases your maximum health.

As you can see, you don’t get upgrades for level 9 of the last two ranks. Once you get level 5 of Super Elite, you won’t need to level anymore for character upgrades. Instead of Zoom, Scientists get 2 reload upgrades and they stack.

That’s it for my guide on Scientist in Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2. Let me know if you have any questions!
