The messages are being sent by the Metropolitan Police as part of the UK’s biggest ever anti-fraud crackdown, following an international operation to shut down a cyber-criminal service. The operation was led by the Met and involving law enforcement agencies in Europe, Australia, the US, Ukraine, and Canada, resulting in the arrest of 142 suspected cyber criminals. Those arrested are suspected of being involved in conducting scams where they posed as representatives from banks – including Barclays, Santander, HSBC, Lloyds, Halifax, First Direct, Natwest, Nationwide and TSB – and tricked victims into handing over money, or one-time passcodes to access bank accounts....

Monongalia Health System – which runs Monongalia County General Hospital Company and Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital Company – said that hackers had access to several email accounts from May 10 to August 15. These accounts contained sensitive information from patients, providers, employees, and contractors. The company concluded its investigation into the incident on October 29, finding that the attack resulted from an email phishing incident. “Mon Health first became aware of the incident after a vendor reported not receiving a payment from Mon Health on July 28, 2021....

As it has done surrounding past holidays, Pokémon GO developers Niantic announced today that it will host a special in-game event for Easter weekend. The “Eggstravaganza” event will kick off today at 1:00 PM PDT and include increased opportunities to catch a greater variety of specific types of Pokémon while earning more Candy from each one hatched from an egg: In addition, the event will include 50% off Lucky Eggs purchased from the in-game storefront which Niantic notes allows for four times the XP....

Pokémon GO has been pushing more events to its users as its user base has begun to decline. The company today announced a new event in hopes that users return to the AR-based game. The game notes that players will be able to find 2km Eggs, which will only be available throughout the event. “This means that Pokémon that normally hatch from 5 km or 10 km Eggs, such as Wynaut or Ralts, will be found in 2 km Eggs,” the company says....
